CBUS 106 - Basics of International Trade

Course Description:

This program prepares participants for strategic planning to enter markets, assess export readiness, develop skills in preparing export plans, and make use of WTO tools. It enables participants to apply Incoterms 2020 in real-world trade scenarios and helps them build strong fundamental skills in preparing and verifying commercial documents, as well as applying rules of origin in practice and linking them to customs privileges in line with customs regulations.

 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  1. Fundamentals of international trade and (export/import) operations, and assessing companies’ readiness for export and market access.
  2. Detailed explanation of Incoterms 2020 groups and structure, and correct application in business transactions.
  3. Role of free trade agreements and rules of origin in market access.
  4. WTO tools for facilitating market access.
  5. Describe strategies for entering different markets.
  6. Conduct market and readiness assessments using ready-made templates.
  7. Analyze economic and legal barriers and Risk Management factors
  8. Develop a preliminary market plan for a new product.
  9. Use research tools and AI platforms to gather and analyze information.
