CCOM 363 - 2D Animation

Course Description:

This course is designed to cover the animation principles; describe
Adobe Animate and TV Paint screens to produce a professional well-designed stylized
animations in different fields; learn the body mechanics using character rigs to make essential
motions (walking, running, and jumping) as well as 2D effects; animate characters by several
techniques (symbols, tweens and rigging); sketching and perspectives; learn how to reflect
character’s feelings and how to design an animation background; learn storyboard making;
learn video exporting with different formats; applying animation in industry.

 

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Apply the 12 principles in any designed motion.
2. Create frame by frame animations.
3. Clean up and color animations.
4. Learn sketching.
5. Design appealing characters for animation.
6. Animate facial expressions.
7. Animate essential cycles.
8. Animate using symbols and tweens.
9. Design an animation background.
10. Deal with camera and depth.
11. Add sounds and make lip-sync animation.
12. Deal with masking.
13. Rig and animate characters.
14. Rotoscoping for the motion.
15. Exporting videos.
16. Create storyboards and animatics to direct a project.
17. Animation and life.
18. Implement the graduation project.
