STLU 202 - Legal Translation 2
A 3-unit introductory course in fundamentals of translating legal documents into English. The linguistic framework of the rules governing drafting and interpretation of legal writings is first established. In a contrastive study model, the rules governing legal documents are dealt with and practiced on all relevant levels of language analysis. With a view to expanding mastery of legal terminology in the Egyptian context, the second unit gives a careful and in-depth contrastive study and analysis of the Power of Attorney in Arabic and English.
