SFFM 100 - Fundamentals of Fundraising Management
Course Description:
With the expansion of nonprofit organizations the need for fundraising activities rises up. In this 45-hour certificate, participants will be provided with the basic knowledge and required skills for building their careers in the fundraising field. During this project-based and interactive learning experience, participants will become familiar with the fundamentals of fundraising, its cycle and plan components as well as they will know the different types of donors and how to draft professional proposals. As well, they will learn some planning skills like budgeting techniques and to create a winning marketing communication message that attracts donors and how to build successful relations with them. In addition to hard skills of fundraising management like budgeting techniques and setting the Key performance indicators of their fundraising activities, participants will also be guided on developing their interpersonal skills and voice techniques to ensure their success in this career.


Degree awarded : Stand alone certificate in Fundamentals of Fundraising Management

Course Pre-requisites
1. ENGG B1A on the SEPT
2. Completion of ENGG A2D
3. Applicants must have basic computer literacy.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Recognize the concept and principles of fundraising and its value for nonprofit business sustainability
2. Identify Fundraising cycle; stages and plan components
3. Identify the different types of donors
4. Write professional proposals for winning donors
5. Set plans for successful and sustainable donors relations
6. Develop winning marketing communications plans to attract donors
7. Recognize the nature and value of some special events in supporting fundraising
8. Practice the needed interpersonal skills and voice techniques for successful fundraising professionals
9. Identify different budgeting techniques for funding fundraising activities
10. Select the right Key performance indicators KPIs to ensure successful results of fundraising campaigns
