SAS 105 - Operational Economics
The course familiarizes learners with the concept of supply chain management and the concept of logistics through economical use of optimization models and simulation techniques. Topics covered in this course are business process, supply chain drivers, and metrics, supply and demand in supply chain management, introduction to economics, contract and risk management. Part of the: Applied Supervisory Professional Diploma Learning Outcomes : 1. Demonstrate the framework, fundamentals and strategic framework of supply chains. 2. Categorize supply chain drivers and metrics. 3. Explain the negative causal relationship between price and quantity demanded in demand curves. 4. Explain the positive causal relationship between price and quantity supplied on supply curves. 5. Explain, using diagrams, how demand and supply interact to produce market equilibrium. 6. List the contracts types and terms. 7. Analyze different risk types and how to manage them. Admission Requirements for the above certificate(s) : 1. If offered in Arabic: Learners must have at least 3 years of experience in a technical-related field after high school completion or completed >5 CEUs (>50 Hours) in SCE’s Applied Studies Department at specific area of specialization or have a bachelor degree. 2.
