SAS 102 - Budgeting and Cost Efficiency
This course aims to provide students with an understanding of, and ability to produce and apply cost and management accounting information that is used in planning, managing and controlling the budget of a project/organization. Topics covered focus on mastering the concepts of budgeting as a planning tool, variances and performance evaluation, and relevant costs for decision making.

Learning Outcomes :

1- Identify organizational goals as a first step towards budget construction.
2- Explain the costing techniques used to determine a project’s budget.
3- Carry out the budgeting process effectively.
4- Apply cost control tools and be able to stay on the budget’s track.
5- Demonstrate how the production budget is compiled, and the issues to consider when constructing it.
6- Produce a life-cycle budget and control costing.
7- Design a budget/cost baseline.
8- Use cost-volume-profit analysis to make budgeting decisions.
9- Construct and master a balanced scorecard.
10- Communicate a budget’s underlying concepts and data.
11- Perform budget versus actual analyses.

Admission Requirements for the above certificate(s) :

If offered in Arabic:

1.Learners must have at least 3 years of experience in a technical-related field after high school completion or completed >5 CEUs (>50 Hours) in SCE’s Applied Studies Department at specific area of specialization or have a bachelor degree.

2. If offered in English:

-Learners must have at least 3 years of experience in a technical-related field after high school completion or completed >5 CEUs (>50 Hours) in SCE’s Applied Studies Department at specific area of specialization or have a bachelor degree.
-Learners must obtain a minimum score of A2C proficiency level on SCE’s Standardized English Proficiency Test.
