CLM 201 - Logistics Management
The course familiarizes the learners with the concept of logistics through the use of optimization models and simulation techniques. The following topics will be covered are; logistics overview, capacity management, aggregate planning, transportation management and global logistics management.

Prerequisite:Foundation Certificate in Supply Chain Management.

Career Certificate in Logistics Management

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Define logistics management concepts.
2. Identify logistics, the economic impacts of logistics and strategic framework of contemporary logistics.
3. Explore productivity issues in logistics.
4. Identify packaging fundamentals and materials handling.
5. Illustrate demand forecasting models, order cycle and its four components.
6. Define the contemporary transportation management and the five modes of transportation.
7. Design a transportation networks.
8. Identify the strategic importance of facility location and the major factors that influence facility location.
9. Practice location decisions using simple grid systems.

Term duration: 12 Weeks
Schedule: 1 Session/week - 5 Hrs/Session

Assessments and Attendance:
Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, projects or othermeans of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performancein the course. The final grade in each course is based on learners’ performance oncontinual assessment measures and the final test. Final course grades are NOT based on attendance, since in accordance with SCE’s attendance policy, learners must attend at least 75% of the class sessions in order to be allowed to take the final examination.
