SELT 401 - Internship in ELT |
As part of the Professional Diploma in ELT which is a 210-hour program in teacher training that aims to sharpen the teaching skills of novice and experienced teachers alike and begins with the sixty-hour FELT course (Fundamentals of English Language Teaching), Internship in ELT (30 hours) is an on-site practicum where participants have multiple opportunities to teach real classes, reflect on their own teaching and engage with trainer feedback. Throughout the modules, trainees will create and maintain a teaching ePortfolio, which will count towards their cumulative assessment.
Prerequisites SELT 301 Learning environment and assessment in ELT. Part of the: Professional Diploma in English Language Teaching -ELT Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, learners will be able to: 1. Develop a personal teaching philosophy based on principles and best practices 2. Conduct research, present, and lead discussions on current topics in TESOL 3. Set goals for continued growth as professionals in their field. Term duration: 6 Weeks Schedule: 2 Sessions/week - 2.5 Hrs/Session Assessments and Attendance: Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, projects or other means of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performance in the course.
