SELT 301 - Learning environment and assessment in ELT |
As part of the Professional Diploma in ELT which is a 210-hour program in teacher training that aims to sharpen the teaching skills of novice and experienced teachers alike and begins with the sixty-hour FELT course (Fundamentals of English Language Teaching), Learning environment and assessment (60 hours) discusses the learner and the learning environment, current approaches and issues in TESOL, materials design and assessment, and ends with participants’ identifying a pedagogical problem, writing and presenting an action plan.
Prerequisites SELT 201 Methods and Principles in English Language. Part of the: Professional Diploma in English Language Teaching -ELT Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, learners will be able to: 1. Develop assessment tasks appropriate to learning outcomes 2. Design and adapt materials appropriate to learning outcomes 3. Demonstrate the ability to cater to learner differences, including special needs Term duration: 12 Weeks Schedule: 1 weekend Session/week - 5 Hrs/Session Assessments and Attendance: Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, projects or other means of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performance in the course.
