SBOM 206 - Decision Making and Problem Solving |
This course focuses on the competencies for effective problem analysis that lead to sound decisions. This includes identifying the roots of problems, generating and evaluating alternatives and assuming responsibility for decisions taken. Topics cover problem analysis, the context of decision making, group decision making, planning for decisions, decision appraisal, financial assessment, dealing with uncertainty, implementation and evaluations of solutions.
Prerequisite:Foundation Certificate in Business Administration and Management.
Part of the:Career Certificate in Management Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Discuss the decision-making context 2. Evaluate factors that affect an individual’s decision style 3. Practice quantitative and financial decision making 4. Design implementation and evaluation processes of a decision Term duration: 6 Weeks Schedule: 2 Sessions/week - 2.5 Hrs/Session Assessments and Attendance: Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, projects or other means of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performance in the course. The final grade in each course is based on learners’ performance on continual assessment measures and the final test.
