SAS 109 - Operational Technical Drawings (OTD) |
In this fundamentals course, students are introduced to the basics of reading technical drawings, their symbols and terminology. Terms and definitions used in different sectors & industries, such as manufacturing and construction, may also be covered. Basic drawing skills will be introduced in geometric construction, making measurements, and lettering. Students may also be introduced to computer-aided drawing (CAD) software or techniques.
A stand-alone Certificate: Operational Technical Drawings Learning Outcomes : 1-Construct simple drawings of simple technical systems in pencil. 2-Originate different data including geometric construction, measurements & dimensions and lettering. 3-Demonstrate various Orthographic projections. 4-Describe various Isometric projections. 5-Assess various full & partial Sectioning views. 6-Differentiate between different technical symbols for materials, components & representations of systems. 7-Read technical drawings for various technical systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Construction ...). 8-Perceive an understanding of the basics of 2D CAD drawings. 9-Recognize an awareness of the array of 3D CAD programs that are used in the field to develop outputs for industrial use. Admission Requirements for the above certificate(s) : 1.If offered in Arabic: -Learners must hold Thanawia Amma or equivalent or higher. 2.
