SCSM 101 - Startup Management |
This certificate is designed to help you acquire the skills needed to startup your own business. It provides you with the basic knowledge and skills to plan for a new business, choose the right product/service to offer and the market you can serve as well as choosing the best entry strategy for your new ventures. During this certificate you will learn how to develop a business plan, how to set the needed budget and the how to select the best source of financing your business. As well, you will learn how to manage the day-to-day operations of your business and how to select and manage its human capital.

Identify the characteristics of a successful start-up 2. Acquire the managerial skills needed to administer startup 3. Practice the planning and management skills needed to run a successful business 4. Develop a comprehensive feasibility study 5. Set plans for recruiting and hiring the efficient man power 6. Establish the legal frame for start-up business 7. Design business and Marketing plans 8. Identify the sources of funding start-up business 9. Set measurement tools to evaluate start-up business performance 10.Demonstrate self-awareness, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, teamwork management and all related entrepreneurial skills, Admission Requirements for the above certificate(s): 1. Applicants must pass the Standardized English Proficiency Test (SEPT) and score level ENGG B1A. 2. Applicants must have basic Computer Literacy Term duration: 12 Weeks Schedule: 2 Sessions/week - 4.16 Hrs/Session Assessments and Attendance: Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, projects or other means of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performance in the course. The final grade in each course is based on learners’ performance on continual assessment measures and the final test.
