FELT 101 - Fundamentals of English Language Teaching
The FELT is a sixty-hour training course that exposes and prepares pre-service and in-service (with no or limited experience) teachers with the most essential EFL classroom skills, strategies and techniques to take their first practical steps in the profession of teaching.Trainees receive a Certificate of Achievement when completing th e outcomes of the course with a minimum of 70 percent. The outcomes of this course have been designed in line with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) 2009 teacher-education standards. Prerequisite:None

1.Certificate of Achievement in Fundamentals of English Language Teaching

Learning Outcomes:This course have been designed to Cover the following:
• Language Learning Practice and Theory
• Teaching Methods and Classroom Management
• Teaching Integrated Skills
• Classroom Assessment and
• Teacher Autonomy.

Admission Requirements for the above certificate(s):
• Applicants must be university graduates (a copy of the bachelor’s degree is required at time of admission).
• Applicants must pass the Standardized English Proficiency Test (SEPT) and score level ENGGB2A, even continuing SCE learners.
• Applicants must have basic computer literacy.

Term duration: 6 Weeks
Schedule: 4 Sessions/week - 2.5 Hrs/Session
2 weekend sessions/week - 5 hrs/session

Assessments and Attendance:
Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, micro-teaching, presentations and/or other means of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performancein the course. The final grade in each course is based on learners’ performance oncontinual assessment measures and the final test.
