Course/Program Description:
Utilizing learner-centered methodology and task-based instruction, learners will be able to meet their language needs in order to interact in structured situations and communicate using simple sentences and high-frequency words. They will read and understand short texts related to everyday life. They will also be able to write a series of simple sentences to describe people and/or events. The course is the third of the A2 stage of the CEFR.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- identify and describe common personality traits associated with various jobs or professions.
- use comparative and superlative forms of adjectives to compare and contrast personality traits and different job candidates.
- compare different job candidates based on various factors and select the most suitable one, expressing personal opinions and justifying choices.
- use appropriate adjectives to describe people's physical appearance and personality traits.
- engage in conversations about meeting and admiring celebrities, and write well-structured paragraphs describing favorite celebrities using appropriate vocabulary and reasons.
- use appropriate vocabulary and expressions to describe cities, towns, and villages, including adjectives to express opinions.
- write emails about where they live, including location, characteristics, and personal likes and dislikes.
- identify and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of living in a city, town, or village.
- effectively present information about a city, town, or village, including key features, attractions, and quality of life.
- engage in collaborative discussions on work-life balance, utilize relevant vocabulary, and write advice emails using modal verbs and conditional sentences.
- identify and discuss different skills and abilities required for various jobs.
- express preferences and abilities in work-related discussions, including role play scenarios suggesting suitable jobs based on preferences and abilities.
