SBSM 105 - Contemporary Management |
The course aims at engaging learners with current issues in management, and exploring
their implications for public and community sector organizations. Drawing on organizational
theories and research, it aims at assisting learners to develop frameworks and skills for
analysis of organizational context, management practices and personal actions. Topics to be
covered in class and through learners’ self-directed learning include management.
Prerequisites 1- SBSM101 Principles of Marketing or SBOM106 Marketing for Non-Marketing professionals
2- SBSM102 Consumer Behavior
3- SBSM103 Professional Selling Skills Part of the: 1- Foundation Certificate in Marketing 2- Career Certificate in Sales Management Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Explain the role of management in organizations 2. Demonstrate the importance of planning and decision making 3. Manage change and innovation 4. Improve efficiency of control and operation management 5. Analyze the financial statement Term duration: 6 Weeks Schedule: 2 Sessions/week - 2.5 Hrs/Session Assessments and Attendance: Learners are assessed throughout the term by tests, quizzes, assignments, projects or othermeans of evaluation. End-of-term achievement tests measure learners’ overall performancein the course. The final grade in each course is based on learners’ performance oncontinual assessment measures and the final test.
